I happened to be in the Virginia Beach area for a short period and was looking for a healthy place to eat. I happened to stumble upon COMMUNE located in the creative district (VIBE) not too far from the beach.

Founder Kevin Jamison and his team have created a casual & fun dining venue with an emphasis on locally sourced food that tastes great because the ingredients are super fresh and pure. There is inside, outdoor and bar seating. It is a place to come and savior natural ingredients where one can immediately taste the difference.

It truly was one of my best food experiences that I have recently had because the ingredients are either fresh from the 2,000 square foot garden in the back or locally sourced from farms in Virginia. I experienced food nirvana at Commune and my taste buds went on a fantastic journey.

Commune is open from 8am until 4pm and takes no reservations but it is worth the wait. We started off with the peanut/Nutella and beet/goat cheese croissants followed with the scrumptious tomato tart scrambled eggs, fresh salad & the chicken buck wheat crepes. For libations there is an assortment of local wines, craft beers, sodas and teas/coffees. I had the fresh peach soda that was so refreshing in a hot summer day.

The taste of the farm eggs, tomatoes and lettuce left me spellbound as I take for granted what super fresh garden ingredients taste like living in a large city.

My only wish is that Commune was closer so I could go more often! Kudos to Kevin Jamison for creating a great eating & dining experience. In my opinion food, friends, libations and laughter is what life is about!
