What I love most about any retail therapy experience is to be transfixed! I might not have the funds to be dressed head to toe in Dior and I want my individual style to reflect my distinct personality. In my opinion style is about individuality, mixing pieces from designer brands like DIOR, vintage pieces and low cost items to create a unique vision. Fashion is about having fun and mixing it up.

I am obsessed by the DIOR boutique at City Center in Washington, DC because it is totally unique experience more a museum than a retail emporium. The first floor houses the brands shoes, signature bags and accessories, the mezzanine level houses the ready to wear and the second floor houses a unique VIP salon for private appointments decorated with stunning custom art and calming & inviting colors.

What makes the DIOR boutique even more special is the great team that runs it! Customer service is paramount in any retail business and Trina Sams-Manning the boutique director and her team go out of their way to make everyone that walks in the doors feel comfortable. Whether a client is browsing the eighteen works of custom art that were designed for this location or buying their first DIOR item they will feel special.

When it comes to architecture, art and interior design this DIOR boutique is modern but carrying on the Dior heritage of fine quality, unique designs and the tradition of Haute Couture interpreted for ready to wear and accessories.

There are two key design features that I am truly taken about with the first being the Christopher Schanck bench at the entrance of the boutique and the other is the video art wall by Yoram which is featured along the staircase that leads to the mezzanine level. The Video at is so soothing and beautiful placing one in an instant state of tranquility.

I am impressed that this Dior boutique acts as an experience for the customer and not just an emporium to buy designer goods. The Peter Marino inspired interior is a tribute to individuality and treating the prospective client with the attention to detail they deserve. Bravo DIOR for raising the bar in Washington, DC!
