Traveling to India for me is always a true spiritual experience because of the sights, smells and colors. No city in India captures these unique senses more than Jaipur. Jaipur is called the pink city because of its beauty and its location in the province of Rajasthan.

I was fortunate to stay at the beautiful Oberoi Rajvilas. A stunning hotel situated on 32 acres of lush gardens, flower trees and cascading fountains. Rajvillas is built to resemble a traditional fort. I was taken aback by the sheer beauty of the complex and enjoyed walking the property and taking in the smell of the Jasmine wafting throughout especially at night. The dining was spectacular on the terrace with delicious Indian fare and sublime service. The tented villas are truly like stepping back in time to a land where perfection reigned.

Jaipur is known for its jewelry market and no emporium better exemplifies exquisite jewelry and craftsmanship for me than the GEM PALACE. Started by the Kasliwal family in 1852 and jewelers to the Maharajas. From chandelier earrings studded with emeralds, to magnificent gold jewelry and rings galore no place has caused me to gasp like the GEM PALACE.

I cherish my time in India not only because of the sights but my experience with the locals that are so warm and inviting.
