I am a fan of master chef Jean George because he always creates inspiring meals that are beautifully presented in the most stunning venues. Whether I have dined at his restaurants in New York, Miami or overseas destinations like Dubai, Paris, Tokyo or Mexico, I have always had a fantastic experience.

On a recent trip to Miami I was advised by my clients to dine at the Matador Room. Their recommendation was spot on. We had reservations in the oval shaped retro main dining room but when I saw the expansive terrace overlooking the pool and beach we dined outdoors.

The terrace filled with foliage and trellis covered with bougainvillea is breathtaking. For me, Miami is all about outdoor dining when the weather permits. We were fortunate to have a balmy night where we were seated, overlooking the pool where we could savor the amazing ambience while we waited for our food to arrive.

The menu consists of Latin inspired tapas and larger plates. I am a huge fan of the avocado pizza with cilantro, lime juice and a touch of jalapeno for a kick not only innovative, but fresh and light. We continued with a selection of small plates such as the fish tacos and other vegetarian small plates and grilled branzino for our main course. Dessert was dark chocolate decadence!

The service was wonderful and we had a relaxing time seating outdoors with the calm winds hitting our shoulders as we breathed in the fresh ocean air and enjoyed our meal.
