The Blue Shrimp is a fantastic waterfront restaurant located in Punta Mita Mexico serving fresh seafood sourced from local fisherman.

The setting is just breathtaking, casual chic right on the beach with a fantastic vibe and ambience. The open-air restaurant has an extensive bar area and dining al fresco either on the sandy beach portion or on the deck. A perfect venue to watch the sunset. The design is innovative with baskets used for catching shrimp used as lights and hung in clusters from the ceiling. The open-air concept sets a relaxed and easy mood.

Punta Mita is a charming waterfront town with great fresh seafood. The blue shrimp has an excellent selection of blue shrimp dishes prepared in various cooking styles. The signature shrimp dishes are my favorite as each large shrimp is so juicy and tender.

We started with guacamole prepared table side and an unconstructed caesar salad prepared with fresh anchovies.

My party tried the coconut shrimp and the sautéed shrimp in garlic and lemon. The seafood is extremely fresh and tasteful because it is locally sourced catch to table. It is accompanied with grilled vegetables to enhance the dining experience.

The libations are made to order, and the margaritas are made with fresh lime juice and the best tequila poured table side. There is a fantastic tamarind margarita that is served over the rocks and has a sweet and tangy taste because of the tamarind fruit.

Besides the fresh seafood and mesmerizing beach view, the service was extremely attentive. Aldo our server made sure that he explained all facets of the dining experience to us and made sure we enjoyed our food and experience. I am looking forward to my next trip to Punta Mita so that I can savor some more of the cuisine and ambience at the Blue Shrimp.
