Ruthie’s All-Day is a local restaurant in Arlington, Virginia that is a shining star! Serving, breakfast, lunch, brunch, snacks, and dinner the locally sourced chef driven restaurant is a gem.

Great food prepared on a wood burning hearth with locally sourced seasonal items that excite my plate. I was invited by a close friend for a late lunch, and I was surprised to find such great food and well-priced so close by. Ruthie’s all-day is housed in a midcentury modern building that has had many former lives before becoming a restaurant. Offering both spacious indoor dinning and an outdoor patio with heaters for those that don’t feel comfortable sitting inside.

Chef Matt Hill create delicious comfort food with a modern & fun twist. For dinner you select your choice of meat, chicken, or fish with either two or three sides. I have tasted the chicken, bronzini and salmon all prepared on the wood burning hearth which is so tasty. Giving the food an authentic smoky flavor.

For the sides, I have tried the grilled brussels sprouts, the hand cut fries, the roasted sweet potatoes and the red bliss mashed potatoes and the arugula and fennel salad. Each side was so fantastic that I could just make a meal of the sides! Their version of the Caesar salad has a house made garlic dressing, croutons with shaved parmesan. The house made dressing is delicious because it is not too heavy but actually very light & fresh.

For dessert there is the house made chocolate cookies, the apple cobbler with ice cream and the toffee pudding. I am a huge fan of cobblers and this apple cobbler with the flaky crust and not too sweet apples is one of my favorites. There is a full selection of local beers, wines, and seasonal cocktails to lift one’s sprits. Ruthie’s All-Day is an experience and worth visiting!
