Paris holds a special place in my heart because my family resides there and I have created so many lasting memories in this majestic city. Whether I am walking by the Seine, visiting a museum, sitting at a café, exploring the incredible neighborhoods or running to a business meeting the beauty of the city captivates me.

The architecture of Paris and the grand boulevards mesmerize me as the city is a walking museum. The arrival of the Peninsula Hotel to Paris in 2014 added a stunning luxury hotel housed in a historic piece of architecture to the upscale Paris hotel scene. The building itself has a long history and was once the conference center for the French Ministry of Foreign affairs and two peace accords have been signed there. Located on the beautiful Avenue Kleber between the Arc de Triomphe and Trocadero, the Peninsula is classics but with its own unique character.

The structure was painstakingly restored and renovated to its glory but with modern touches and hi tech accouterments in each room. I travel for business often so I adore a hotel that offers various dining options and a dining room with a view.

Even though the Peninsula offers various dining options my favorite is the L’Oiseau Blanc (the white bird) located on the sixth floor rooftop. The restaurant has the most stunning view of the iconic monuments in Paris. Further, it is refreshing to walk into such a classic hotel and be whisked to the rooftop that gives one the sense of having all of Paris in one’s hands.

Chef Sidney Rodel creates delicious food with the beautiful presentation and a fantastic ambiance. Dining at the L’Oiseau Blanc I felt like I had forgotten everything and was able to enjoy the food, libations and breathtaking view of Paris. The venue offers a bar as well for those that want to have a libation.

Even if one doesn’t stay at the Peninsula Paris I urge you to go visit the hotel for afternoon tea, a libation or a meal. It is truly a historic Parisian landmark that had beautifully been resorted and renovated!
