I find Montauk to be breathtaking with natural & raw vistas that gives one a true feel of freedom. Long stretches of beach, sand dunes, bonfires and a total laid back vibe.

Recently I was vacationing with my family in East Hampton and we decided to go to the newly renovated & updated Gurney’s Montauk resort for dinner. It was my first visit and I was taken aback by the beautiful beach front views and the friendly atmosphere.

I am always hesitant about dining at resort towns but I was totally blown away by Scarpetta located in Gurney’s with an expansive beachfront patio and airy chic indoor space. The theme is light, beige and nautical in a chic refined manner. Scarpetta lets the ocean placement speak volumes.

We sat on the patio directly facing the beach and enjoyed a delicious dinner with great service. Piero Zangarinini the manager made sure all the guests were taken care of. We started with an assortment of salads my favorite was the beet followed by black cod and branzino. The textures, flavors and presentation were spot on.

What makes Scarpetta special to me is the direct location on the beach, the delicious Italian food and the attention to detail. For me it was a combination of all these features coupled with being with my family that made it a memorable experience!
