Located on a quiet and charming street on East 73rd street in New York City sits Via Quadronno. A quaint Italian restaurant/café that serves a great coffee, pastries, casual lunch fare and dinner.

Like Italy it has a coffee bar where one can pop in for a quick expresso, sit on the stools in the front area to dine or in the restaurant in the back. This little space has a warm ambience especially on a cold winter day when you are walking in from Fifth Avenue or Central park for the perfect coffee or libation. I prefer sitting in the front on the stools because I find the back a bit dark. The front is cramped but fun and you get to look out on East 73rd street which is just beautiful.

Besides the strong Italian coffee choices, there are pastries, gelato and a selection of snacks like panini’s and salads for lunch. On the day I came in after a business meeting they had a selection of pastas for lunch as well. The Upper East side of New York can be stuffy but Via Quadronno is friendly and a perfect place to relax between meetings, sightseeing and just meeting a friend or colleague!
