I had a fantastic birthday with my family in the South of France. Even though I went off season the days were cool but sunny and there were no crowds to deal with. It was divine to immerse myself in the culture.

I flew out of the US on my birthday and arrived in Nice to relax and then have a wonderful Birthday dinner that night at restaurant Le Sant’Ana at Saint Laurent Du Var right on the harbor.

Le Sant’Ana owned by the Pampini family since 1976 is one of the best seafood restaurants that I have been too. The fish is fresh, and the preparation is simple but elegant and so tasty.

I started with their shaved fresh artichoke  & parmesan salad followed by the whole sea bass cooked in a salt shell. The seabass once baked in the salt shell comes out delicate and mouthwatering good. I then had an assortment of desserts to celebrate my special birthday!

We had the profiterole stuffed with ice cream with a decadent dark chocolate sauce, the nougat ice cream and the pear in puff pastry and cream. The dessert part was over the top good! It was truly the best birthday suuuronded by my family and enjoy
