I was in New York for a business event and a dear friend asked that I meet at NOBU Downtown for dinner. I was expecting a nice dining venue but what I encountered was a “WOW” moment when I entered NOBU downtown in the financial district.

The landmark building at 195 Broadway is stunning. The main level holds the circular sushi bar and lounge which is a piece of architecture history. The space has soaring ceilings, ornate architectural elements such as detailed columns and large chandeliers and one has a sense of history in this architectural landmark.

The main dining room is downstairs but the upper/street level is just stunning so we decided to eat in the lounge which has comfortable banquet sitting along the wall. The ambience and food are fantastic!

Our server Aiyana was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the menu. Beside the classic Nobu fare this location has some updated choices along with the delicious sushi bar. We had sea-bass with black bean sauce, a tuna Sashimi salad, an assortment of sushi and tempura shrimp.

Each item was fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. The downtown location offers a 3-course prefix lunch in the lounge which allows one to experience the ambience and food at a great price.

Nobu in the financial district is a gem to visit for dining and savoring the beautiful ambience.
