I was in Bal Harbour for business a few months ago when I saw very fit people training on the beach early each morning. I was bit daunted at first but decided to find out if this workout was associated with my Hotel.
I found out that it was a beach boot camp organized by Christopher Vlaun the co-founder of V Art of Wellness. The boot camp consists of one hour sessions taught barefoot on the beach. I was a bit mortified to join these hard bodies so early in the morning but I gave it a try! It was one of the best exercise experiences on my life. The boot camp consists of three parts. The first part is a warm up, the second an intense circuit that you can do at your own pace but are paired up and the third is a cool down period that incorporates yoga poses and stretching.
It was an exercise routine unlike any that I have taken. Chris Vlaun is so knowledgeable and comforting. I think he saw the fear on my face and reassured me that I could do it! He even asked if I had any medical conditions and made sure I modified some exercises to suit my needs. If in the Miami/Bal Harbour areas definitely try the V Art of Wellness beach boot camp!
